Sensor manufacture
Manufacture of delicate but gas tight and mechanically stable welding joints with hardly visible seams. That is the strength of ALPHA LASER systems.
Pre-racked cylindrical sensors are sealed fully automatically, with a frontal circular seam in the welding machine AW 200. The high-grade steel lid is first affixed, and then the airtight welding follows. This process takes place nine times a rack. It is also possible to allow a number of racks to be welded one after the other in a single program process. This is made possible by precise rack technology and outstanding accuracy of the mechanical movement system of the AW 200.
ALPHA LASER devices are used to weld force sensors, pressure sensors and load cells.
But also the simplest sensor seams and joint; shells, lids and bases for resistance thermometers or thermocouples, are manufactured in semi-automatic or manual processes with laser.
Examples of applications
Finest welding in thermocouples
For micro-welding of very fine thermocouples in sheath tubes ranging from 0,15 bis 15 mm ALPHA LASER has realized a laser system which by its construction, its special optics and its optimised gas shielding, is ideal for sensor manufactureres and their needs.
Company A.S.T. Angewandte Systemtechnik Dresden GmbH welds force sensors and load cells.
The force sensors of the series KAF are for use in measurement of static and dynamic tensile and pressure forces. They are marked by a high reading-accuracy and by a low installation height. The transformation of the elastic deformation of the measured body to an evaluable electrical signal is achieved by means of a wheatstone bridge strain gauge. The entire construction is made of special high-grade steel. Complete hermetic sealing of the sensor (protection class IP 67) is achieved, by means of welded membranes of thickness 0.2-0.5 mm.
The load cells of the KAS series are completely manufactured from special high-grade steel, thus they are also suitable for installations requiring load cells under ultra difficult environmental conditions. The sensor element itself is executed as a double arch. A metal pipe with shell thickness 0.1mm, welded onto the deformation zone, protects the strain gauge from environmental influences (protection class IP 67). In this way constancy of measurement properties are guaranteed. The weighing cell reacts to tensile or pressure forces.
The company ADZ NAGANO GmbH in Ottendorf-Okrilla welds pressure sensors, used for air pressure brake systems for trains.
In order to be used under the chassis, the sensor must fulfill the requirements of at least IP65 and, due to customer wishes, be waterproof.
Additionally, the casing is welded with the hexagonal nut and the pressure sealing plug.
